This concept was the mission of the Foundation For The Future which to date has raised more than $964,678 dollars for the sole use of bringing a business park online and then having enough dollars to aggressively market to outside companies. This goal and strategy was well received and widely applauded in the business community. The main push behind this effort was for the job creation possibilities because the PED was not motivated by profit and could essentially give big incentives if the right amount of jobs or total capitol investment was being offered.
In June 2012 the PED announced Romer Beverage has broken ground to be the first tenant in the Agave Business Park. Phase 1 of the Romer project will consist of a 25,000 plus sq ft facility with state of the art refrigeration. Phase 1 will provide 25-40 jobs. Romer's capital investment for phase 1 is substantial. The PED made an investment to the project of the land. Future Romer Beverage phases will consist of expanding the refrigerated warehouse to approximately 10,000 sq ft and moving the corporate headquarters to an approximately 10,000 sq ft multi-level office building that will provide service to the entire Colorado River region.
